Mobile v3 - September Newsletter
Hello Questers!
The engine whurs into life as the engineers apply their secret weapon: the percussive knock with the spanner. “The upgrades are shipshape and awaiting your orders captain.” What do you do?
This month has been big for our Virtual Tabletop team as we aim to get our mobile apps caught up to our web platform. Additionally, getting SRDs into our library and fillable Character Sheet Templates for all our library books has been a lot of creative fun too. Hope you’ve enjoyed our progress this month!
Mobile 3.0!
There has been so much love and sweat (and maybe tears too) that has been poured into getting Mobile Version 3 released to the Apple and Play stores last month. The mobile team upped the version to release Character Sheet Templates and Avatar selection to the mobile App.
On your Quest Portal VTT App, you can now select from Featured Character Sheet Templates and create your own template! You can also create a character from a template within your characters tab.
Hmmm. But if we make a Template on our apps, we will want avatars right? Of course you will! In the version 3 release, you can now choose from any of our premade images, or, more excitedly, upload your own image!
This is such a huge win for mobile devices and we can’t wait to hear your feedback about the new updates. If you haven’t tried yet, you can find our free VTT app for iOS and Android by searching Quest Portal.

What's coming next?
We get a lot of questions about what’s coming up next and when we expect features to be available. Although our crystal balls of prediction can’t tell us when exactly things will be released, we can at least tell you what’s up next in the initiative order.
We’re currently hard at work on a new, highly requested widget: Modifiers. This will help create new dice formulas that will allow cross referencing of stats and bonuses to add onto dice rolls!
You can get a little sneak peek here.
Top Tip: Random Card Draws
Top Tip for this month comes from our thriving Discord community - big thank you to Inko for working this out.
Did you know that you can upload multiple tokens at once? And if you do, they stack, but in a random order each time?
It’s a great way to do random initiative cards, or play solitaire.
Check out this brief video to see the process.
Dragonlance Classics
Thorsteinn Mar’s deep dive into the amazing Dragonlance series tells all about the history of the project and its impact upon the Dungeon & Dragons landscape. Also, we get to learn of Roy the Victorious, a PC who experienced the epic sage that is The War of the Lance.
Library
The wonderful folks of Fool & Scholar have given us access to their complete handbook for Liberty: After - a Sci Fi setting with a divided world watched over by the Archon.
Everything you need to play in the world is available in the Library:
- The complete handbook
- Character Sheet Template
- If you have a Pro subscription or trial, when you set your campaign to Liberty: AFTER, the assistant will utilize the Library Link to connect to the handbook and answer your questions with Liberty as a resource!
And the best bit… it’s free! And if you don’t have Pro yet, you can sign up for a 7 day free trial to try out the library links as well as all the other fantastic benefits of Pro!
Community Spotlight
Before we leave, we want to share with you the wonderful team behind The Mirehaven’s Curse - one of the three Free Claimable Campaigns you’ll find on Quest Portal.

Go check out their stories - and now is the best time as there’s a new world coming… Gaiathrae!
As you navigate through life, be careful not to overtax your engines, and may your checks always propel you forward.
