The LoreMaster

I have to say, your character sheet customization is the smoothest I've used. 10/10.

juan ochoa

So far it's been a super helpful tool and the Assistant hasn't had any issues whatsoever setting up npc's, magic items, encounters, character builds, lore. I'm honestly amazed. No regrets giving this a shot, I hope more people use it!

Ed Greenberg

Not been using this for long, but so far it seems excellent, especially for Call of Cthulhu based games. The streamlined, simple nature is it's biggest advantage. Too many of these programs make virtual setups feel more like playing a video game. I'm holding off on five stars until we've used it more and... Devs... 🙏 There is an option added for having sound on dice rolls 🙏

Weaselcreature

Holy crapola! So, I subscribed and wanted to poke around. I started a campaign and chose the Iron Kingdoms setting (one of my favs!) and used the AI to setup an encounter with very little in the prompt, "cryx warjacks" being the main key words. That damn AI threw out something good and fitting for Iron Kingdoms, complete with appropriate terminology! Wow!

G B

Seems great on PC however unable to place tokens on mobile version Update: fast response from developer with intention of adding tokens to app version. Also... PC version may be the best on market for ease of use

Lara Leonheart

Very easy setup and streamlined UI. Like Roll20 but with a cleaner look and smoother ride. I like it so far.

Aaron Simmons

Has been a fantastic tool for me as a GM. The AI assistant is able to instantly create little details for anything I didn't prep for.

Jacob Williams

Hand's down the best customer service I've ever experienced

Daniel Jenovai

Dm of 15 years. This app is hands down the best support for Call of Cthulhu. Pros - Easy to use for player with a small learning curve. - lots of content for Call of Cthulhu - Call of Cthulhu characters sheets with built-in dice rolls for stats - Great audio and map storytelling collections. - easy note-taking and AI - Awesome support Cons - occasional bugs and issues - poor integration for other rp games While it doesn't support other rp games fully yet, I know it's coming.

Christian Hoffer

The goal of Elder is to make accessing the rules of Call of Cthulhu easier, thus allowing players to focus on actual roleplaying and gameplay. Of course, teaching an AI program the forbidden tomes of eldritch lore might not be a good idea for other reasons, so be careful if you notice your laptop suddenly appear in the middle of a circle of candles as otherworldly chanting echoes from another dimension.

I ran a short campaign with Quest Portal and I *really* enjoyed it. The fog of war tool was awesome. I also like how you could add music to campaign scenes - per scene.Very happy with Quest Portal.

ShadowVampier B

Very easy to use

mattobin

I want to thank the Cthulhu community. A while back, I began my first campaign, choosing to run 'Edge of Darkness' that came with the Starter Pack. Someone on here recommended using 'Quest Portal' and of all the recommendations, that caught my attention. It was a brilliant decision.

I have absolutely no affiliation with them and I am in no way sponsored by them but the support of Gunnar at the team has been incredible. I run the Scenario with 3 other friends online and although we use Google Chat for the conversation (I like seeing their faces when we're chatting) the audio connection on Quest Portal is excellent. Why do I enjoy the platform so much:

  1. Its base content is free and the creative possibilities at this level are very high
  2. I can create different backgrounds, add music and character tokens very easily
  3. I can shift between and share images and notes very carefully
  4. Character Shee generation and dice rolling is excellent (it's easy to mark skill checks and complete bonus/penalty dice rolls)
  5. The tech support and relationship with the Portal team is bonkers in all the right ways - they want feedback on how to tweak and improve all the time - it's a lovely familial atmosphere

Anyway, thank you to whoever recommended it. It's hugely versatile and great fun.

Lucas F

The app looks and runs well so far, really useful and great potential. I really like the custom character sheet option.

Darren Coey

Awesome

Andy Ngo

Long time DM. I play with a lot of players across many campaigns. I fell in love with the simplicity of the design. I hope that over time, any added features don't make it confusing for newer or less tech savvy players. At the moment it's perfect. Only issue for me is that sound does not play on my android mobile app in session.

Russell s Johnson

It's awesome and great

the odd-eyes

this was helpful for dnd with freinds

Wazza

It's exciting - the constant updates, experiments, and out-of-the-box thinking for features - but it's also bare at the moment, missing many of the more useful options other virtual tabletops provide. It could become the best of them as it becomes more functional.

Emily Fowler

Best thing for dungeons and dragons Amazing full access is only 8 a month very clear and detailed

Dr. Stuart Wolley

A remarkably good use case for the new generation of Chatbots.

Dan the Bearded Man

Love this app

Joe Rodriguez

It's great, helps me manage my two campaigns with ease.

@victorjhurtado

Quest Portal is a great VTT. I helped test the platform when it was in beta, and I particularly found interesting how they managed to integrate an AI art generator into the VTT.

Josh McAtee

Loving the functionality so far and can't wait to learn more.

The Apocolypse Players

The Quest Portal team were amongst the earliest and most generous supporters of the podcast. Their AI Keeper assistant, 'Elder', created in collaboration with Chaosium, looks a classy piece of work, potentially removing barriers to entry to the hobby 👏 Excited to try it!

Craig Tann

I love this app. With the addition of the campaign notes feature (that was quick, here's your beer back), this app became my number 1 worldbuilding tool. The AI assistant has helped me get some ideas down on paper and flesh them out. Its like having a copy of myself to bounce ideas of off. It doesn't do the work for you or take away the fun. It is, for me, the perfect helper. Its given me the aid I needed to reclaim a beloved hobby that was shelved with the arrival of young kids. Thank you!

Roby Dorsett

Great

Kyle Sweeney

The app works great for me on mobile. It's great to be able to interact with notes, assistant, and character sheets if I'm out and about.

mrwhite_20

I started using it last November and they only supported CoC & 5e back then. Now they have a ton of stuff. It’s my favorite system for CoC. Love the VTT.

SpellChammer

Fantastic!

This app and ai assistant I've been using for a while now. Anything from general description of area to mechanics and rules to conversion from other rpgs to what my party currently plays in 5e for a spelljammer campaign. It has been invaluable to the creation of the story and making sure my players have a good time. 10 out of 10 from me!

Jdkdskndk

Good one!

Lot of my players are using this app while we play, seems like a good one and of course with time can be improved, but good job!

Kit [He/Him]

Holy moly where do I start?!

I spent 5 hours writing thanks to QP.

So let me explain, I have my own homebrewed world that I have running and creating for since 2018 however I am very dislexic and getting things on paper for people to read on some format is difficult for me.

Boom assistant. It understands my word vomit. Pulls from other docs and has a pleasuresble reading tone.

So thank you Gunnar and the rest of the team for making something that has helped this dislexic, ADHD filled old man get his work out of his brain and onto pixel

Acid Stalker

Fantastic app to keep your story together. I love everything about this app so far. There are minor quality of life things i would change if it were mine. However, there are so many utilities to help breath life into your sessions. I love the privatr note feature, also the knowledge AI makes generating random unexpected things a breeze. I come up with 99% of my encounters, but somtimes i ask the ai for opinions, or to generate general stat blocks that i can change on the fly.

Jericho Dean

This app is beyond incredible. I love the ability to customize character sheets.

Gabrielle de Bourg

I can be quite critical of AI, but this is the exact type of tool that AI is great for (at least in TTRPGs), as it allows us to focus on the creativity of playing. I can usually keep track with a rulebook PDF, but this really does ease up flow of the game.

savagegamer

best dnd App ever

derek9967

I just discovered Quest Portal today..... HOLY CRAP IS THIS INSANELY GOOD. The ability to help flesh out the minor details of my broad plan is such a game changer.

Zac Albright

This is an awesome app to use for dungeon masters. The AI tool is incredible to use and you can tell it was made for the intent of using for tabletop gaming. It really helps helps when your players do something unexpected. There are a few things that I wish that it did. I wish that it was more geared toward World Building because what Ive primarily use it for. The 8$ a month is totally worth the investment but I would be willing to pay a lot more if the app was more geared toward world building.

Thomas Foster

The app is a good representation of the Quest Portal tool and I'd encourage DMs/Keepers to use the system. The dev team are really open and responsive to feedback and the tool has gone from strength to strength.

Kyle Freeman

Really good app and website! My dnd group love using this and makes the game much easier to play remotely! not had the chance to try out the premium yet but the free version is fantastic!

Red Rogers (Samuel)

Legitimately the best thing for DMS and players - so much better than the other options out there

Mwr R

I Love that the assistant has the knowledge of more than just DND centered games. I was able to get a good description of 40k soldiers and locations that were fairly accurate. I haven't tried the campaign options in full, but the note keeping and note generation from the assistant takes alot of stress off of me when I can't think of a random details in the heat of the moment.

Y0Bi

I'm just crazy impressed by all that you Devs have done. I went pro immediately and as a first time remote DM for my friend group they find it very easy to navigate. We are having a great time on the platform

DND Outcasts DM

Got to Say I am Loving This Software!

Lacey Washington

As a GM, the app is really helpful and intuitive. They also support animated maps, which is a game changer for me. The mobile version is good, too, for my players who don't have a laptop or desktop wish they allowed you to port over dnd beyond character sheets through. But worth it for all the other features simple and easy to use

MooserBear3607

Wonderful app

An absolutely awesome interface that is incredibly user friendly and simple to use. I use this app more than my actual character sheet half the time. And the dice formula features are amazing, overall wonderful app.

@Adam_Flare

Huge shoutout to the @questportal_app team. I found a weird bug, posted in their Discord and it was fixed 19 minutes later! It's such a great app. Looking forward to using it in our game tomorrow night.

Your issue is important to us

My group just started to move off 5e and wanted to run Call of Cthulhu. I was also looking to move off Fantasy Grounds and wanted something simple to use but offered a more immersive online experience while being browser based. I’ve tried numerous VTT’s, Foundry, Role, Alchemy and Owlbear. It finally came down to Alchemy and Quest Portal. QP is the clear winner. I wanted something simple to use, something with character sheets, dice roller and media support. I love how tabletop audio is integrated into it. It’s hard to beat the core book subscription, the AI integration is also a plus. If want to play Call of Cthulhu online this is the VTT for you.

@Oskar_Ghoti

I've been spending some time exploring @questportal_app today - making a mock campaign and stuff - and I gotta say I'm impressed with the tools it offers

It is currently only pre-release but it already has some very cool features, and I can see myself running a game there

@Drakoniques

I’ve been checking out Quest Portal and I’ve gotten a few ideas of how it could be used on AP streams 🤔 Excited to try some of them out and see what else QP have cooking.
