About the affiliate program
We are always looking for ways to support creators in the TTRPG space. An affiliate program allows us to do so while benefiting us with more happy users and subscribers.
As an affiliate, you will receive an affiliate code and a link to share and earn a 25% commission on each subscriber you bring in. Additionally, we are always looking to do other sponsorships as well.
It truly is a win-win!
In the early access program, we are looking for Creators who are willing to help us shape how we work with affiliates in the future.
We are seeking YouTubers, Podcasters, Twitch Streamers, TikTokers, writers, artists, or anyone who wants to share Quest Portal with their audience.
Do you do sponsorships as well?
Yes, we do. We aim to buy ad space in videos and podcasts, as well as approach our affiliates about other types of sponsorships and partnerships.
We are looking to buy air time on Podcasts, ad spots in videos, blog features, and wholly made sponsored content.
What type of content can I make as an affiliate?
Use what creative medium you are most comfortable with.
We believe video-focused creators might be most successful in creating content about using Quest Portal or showcasing interesting applications of QP within the context of your channels.
Additionally, writers and artists might be most successful in creating guides, writing blogs, or getting content onto Quest Portal that they share within their channels.
At the heart of it, you should make content for your audience and community members and use your affiliate link to drive traffic to Quest Portal.
What is eligible for commission?
For the early access program, we are making our Quest Portal Pro subscription eligible for commission. Quest Portal Pro is our main product and lies at the heart of the Quest Portal platform.
Who can become an affiliate?
We are seeking TTRPG creators who are interested in making content about Quest Portal, or sharing Quest Portal with their audiences and communities.
We are seeking YouTubers, Podcasters, Twitch Streamers, TikTokers, writers, artists, or anyone who wants to share Quest Portal with their audience.
How does the program work?
If you are accepted into the early access affiliate program here's what will happen.
- You will have an onboarding call with the Quest Portal team.
- We will provide you with your affiliate code and affiliate link. People who use that link/code, sign up to Quest Portal, and start a subscription to the platform will be eligible for the 25% commission.
- We will set up an affiliate landing page for you on our domain: questportal.com/your-affiliate-page.
- We will give you access to a private Slack channel for contacting us.
- We will give you access to a shared affiliate channel on our Discord.
- We will give you access to a Dropbox with content and assets to make you more successful.
- We will have a monthly check-in to make sure you are being successful (more frequent check-ins are welcomed)!
What do my referrals have to do for me to earn a commission?
When a member of your audience or community uses your affiliate link to sign up to Quest Portal, they will be attributed to you through the link.
If, within 30 days of signing up, this new user takes out a free 7-day trial to Quest Portal Pro and converts to a paid subscriber, you will have earned a 25% commission on that subscription.
Please note that only subscriptions through our web application are eligible for commissions.
How do I get paid, how often, and when?
Payments are done through PayPal or Wise, and we will have made sure to get the details for successfully paying you when we first connect.
We batch all conversions that come through in a month from your affiliate link. Conversions here mean the date users convert from a trial and pay their first invoice.
We delay payments from each month by one month to account for cancellations and ensure we don't encounter any payment issues or refund requests. Only conversions from users without issues are eligible for payout.
For how long do I get paid for a referral?
The good news is that you get paid as long as the referral is subscribed.
For users on the Quest Portal Pro monthly plan, you get $2/subscriber/month while they are subscribed. It can be hard to estimate how long those users stay subscribed. However, we can share that our subscription retention numbers are very solid.
For users on the Quest Portal Pro annual plan, you get $1.50/subscriber/month for 12 guaranteed payments. Yearly plans are provided at a discount, and that discount is also reflected in the amount you receive for conversions to those plans. If users renew at the end of the year, you get another 12 guaranteed payments for each user that renews.
Can I track my referrals and expected revenue?
Yes! Through the affiliate company's dashboard, you should be able to see how many times your affiliate link has been used, and how of those have converted to a paid subscription. Through their dashboard, you should be able to see your expected revenue at next payout.
Are there limitations to where in the world I can join from?
If you use PayPal for receiving payments, you should be able to join the program from anywhere where PayPal is supported. For a full list of PayPal supported countries please check out their website.
If you use Wise to receive payments, you should be able to join from anywhere that accepts USD payments. To be sure, please check out their website.
What does Early Access mean?
It means that not everyone that applies will be accepted - we are specifically looking for creators who are able to help us shape the affiliate program by providing us with constructive feedback and be willing to be flexible as we finalize the program.
We intend to use the early access to shape the future of our affiliate program, and as such, the terms and conditions that apply are open to be changed in the future.
If I am not selected to be on the Early Access program, can I still apply to be an affiliate in the future?
Absolutely! We will let you know when the program is officially launched and invite you to become an affiliate.
Quest Portal and use of AI
We are a very AI forward platform. A big part of our paid subscription is access to AI features that are aimed at helping game masters run their games.
We understand the hesitation creators have when working with AI and we want to address some questions here.
Will my content be used to train AI?
Absolutely not. We, nor any of the 3rd party tools, consume content for training. If you write or upload something on Quest Portal it is not used to further train any AI models.
What AI models do you use?
We have a few that we work with. Currently, we use OpenAI's GPT-4o for text generation and Stable Diffusion for image generation.
Do I need to showcase the AI in order to qualify for the affiliate program?
No, you do not. However, since AI is heavily involved in the Pro offering we believe you should be upfront about that in your communications about the affiliate link.
